So late this afternoon after a number of little tests I can finally say I have control of the new pixels! 1383 individual LEDs at 46 meters in length can now be individually controlled, such a relief! After making 8 power injection points the whole lot is able to be run from 1 12V power supply and 1 controller, utilizing just over 1/4 of the number of lights the controller can handle. And I still have a 2nd identical controller! (read: room to add more lights!!!)
Next steps for the pixels is to mount all the strip onto the conduit and cover with cor-flute to help protect them and dissipate the light. I'll also need to finish off the controller box as the controller needs to be affixed in it, as well as adding a fuse block to protect the electronics and adding some ventilation so that it does not get too hot. Waterproofing isn't as important as the box will be positioned inside the garage.
Next comes sequencing and programming the actual light shows. I *may* tackle another element to add to the display but my main goal for this year was to get the pixels up and running and they essentially are done so anything added from here is a bonus in my book.
It's all coming along!
