So earlier this week I took delivery of another package of blinky goodness! In this order were 4x P10 panels, 2x strings of 5v pixel nodes, 2x 5v PSUs and 2x pixel strip testers.
The P10 panels are 16x32 pixels which is 512 pixels per panel, meaning they use 1536 channels each to control (RGB per pixel.) Times 4, thats over 3000 channels added to my show needing to be sequenced! (Luckily I do not need to do each individual one!)
It took some time to get these configured with the BeagleBone Black controller and within my sequencing software (xLights 4) but with some remote access help from some fellow ACL members, last night I had full control of the panels and can start sequencing with them in the show.
I plan to place these in front of the front window which is well covered from the elements. The will be configured as 4x1 like a horizontal scrolling sign, but the benefit being they can be used as much more with full RGB capability.

Today I got the garage 1 step closer to being command central for the show, by dropping a network cable down through the roof which is connected to our home network. This means once the network switch and light controllers are connected in the garage, I can access them from any computer in the house/mancave, making it much easier for tweaking. I've also run an extension lead up across the ceiling to the other side of the garage as this is where the main power & controller for the pixel strip (roofline & garage outline) will be sitting.
Today I also started thinking about how/where to incorporate my old Kmart DC strings. I cut these up a few years ago and only managed to connect a few blue icicles last year (2 of which are dead this year).
