So I've been busy over the past couple of weeks ordering more hardware & cutting up my LED strings & icicles. Since my last post I've received my DC48 controller, 100m of 4core security cable (to act as "extension cords" between the lights and the controller) & 100 pairs of 2-pin waterproof connectors. This means I have LOTS of soldering to do. Not really looking forward to that part, but it's all for the end result. Also on its way to me is a PSU (power supply unit) to power all the LED strings & icicles via the DC controller. Hopefully here by the weekend so I can maybe get some testing done before I start to solder up everything. I'm a little concerned that I haven't heard back about my pixel controllers of late. Hopefully I'll hear back soon...!
This week has seen some rapid spending and movement on the blinky front! My E1.31 to DMX adaptor & a E1.31 pixel controller have been ordered, awaiting shipment confirmation. My 48ch DC board has been made and shipped. I have also purchased 100m of security cable to act as extension leads from the DC controller to the LED strings, and to connect them all up, an order of 100 pairs of waterproof connector plugs. I've also bought some tomato plant support kits and will use these as the basis of 3x Mini Trees (see above image.) The above shows 4 channels of lights, but I will add 2 more channels to run down the legs, possibly even add a star on top as a 7th channel. The legs need to be cut shorter as it currently stands 1.5M tall - a bit too big for a "Mini" Tree! Off to cut more strings... :) |
