My PSU in new Masters waterproof box with "test" lead hanging out for me to test +/- of the cut up strings. Yes, this is standing on my DJ console!!
So time is getting the better of me now. With my DJing finished for the year in theory I have more time on weekends to get the lights finished - but i have quite a bit to do. Over the past week (with the help of my ACL buddy!) I've now got my PSU working and started to connect it to the 48ch DC controller.
What I need to do now though is start to solder on the connector plugs to the ends of the LED icicles & strings I previously cut up (testing which wires are +/- first.) Then I need to make "extension leads" from the 4-core security cable. I *should* be able to use one length of cable to connect to 2 sections of lights to help save on cabling. Hopefully this weekend I can put that theory into practice.
Once all the connectors are soldered and heat shrunk (I bought a heat gun from Bunnnings too!) then I can start to put the lights in place (on the gutters etc.) Obviously doing lots of testing in amongst all of this to ensure they all work during the different stages of setup. The final hurdle will be to get it all communicating to the computer via data cables and software settings.
oh, I should probably put together some sort of blinky flashy programing/sequencing, otherwise the whole thing would be a waste of time!!
12 days until lift off - all with a baby due in 25 days time. What a December to remember!!
